Once the routing has been identified, it is time to move on to finalizing the design. This step includes all aspects of the Strategic category, such as bunker placement, water hazards, tee locations, green shapes, green sizes, secondary hazards and anything else that will have an impact on how the golf shots are to be played. The Plan Documents also show the Aesthetic approach to the design, including the shaping of the forms and features as well as identifying the themes, whatever they might be (walls, stone work, trees, water features, etc.). When this phase is complete, the Plan Documents set will include, but not be limited to, Strategy Plan(s), Staking Plan(s), Erosion Control Plan(s) (typically prepared by, or in concert with the Owner’s civil engineer), Clearing Plan(s), Contour Plan(s), Drainage Plan(s), Grassing Plan(s) Green Detail Plans and Construction Detail Plans. The Plan Documents also include all the necessary construction specifications, which provide all necessary technical data for the construction of the golf course, as determined by the Owner and Designer. |
